Plant Training Telehandler Training

For anyone who uses or will be using a telescopic handler in the land-based industries or construction industry.

Novice Operators: Novice operators 5 days Training course

Experienced Operators: varying depending on experience

on site assessment available for experienced operators

Telehandler Plant Training Course Training includes

  • Basic construction, names of components and the purpose and use of all controls and gauges
  • Use of the operator’s handbook, etc
  • Operator documentation, certificates, method statements, lift plans, duties, charts etc
  • Pre-use and running checks, close-down procedure
  • Preparing the tele-handler for site and road travel
  • Travelling the tele-handler over different terrain including rough undulating ground (not industrial telescopic) and substantial inclines while unloaded and loaded
  • Maneuvering progressing to confined spaces in a forward and reverse direction with and without loads
  • Setting the tele-handler to lift and move different loads
  • Load characteristics, integrity and security while picking, moving and landing, including landing loads in high places
  • Lifting, moving and placing various loads accurately including loading and unloading a vehicle or trailer
  • Precautions and actions for overhead services and other hazards
  • How to stay within safe working parameters
  • Placing the tele-handler in an out-of-service condition
  • Loading and unloading procedures on and off a transporter
  • Trained operator achievement test
